Acai is not only a delicious berry to enjoy in a variety of food but it is also known for a variety of health benefits. The Amazon tribes have long used the Acai berry as a treatment for digestive problems, skin irritation, sexual dysfunction and even insomnia. What’s better is the Acai berry is naturally low in sugar which makes it safe for diabetics as well.

 

It wasn’t until recently that people in the United States found the energy and health benefits of the Acai berry. Today you may even be able to find the Acai berry as an ingredient at your local smoothie store. Since the recent research breakthroughs in the Acai berry it has become a media sensation in the United States. Despite the wonderful benefits of the Acai berry it isn’t recommend that you eat the berry directly. Rather the berries must be harvested and processed in order to get an extract from the pulp of the berry. This extra can be found everywhere in South America. In the southern hemisphere you will even find that Acai based drinks are more popular than milk. This is because many individuals in South America know that Acai drinks are a pure and healthy drinks which not only give them energy and make them alert but also help increase their overall health.

 

The best news is that current research hasn’t found any side effects to the Acai berry. While the Acai berry has been around for a long time in other countries, it is still new to the United States and many medical professionals are still observing its health benefits. However, the success of the berry in South American countries is proof enough that this berry has a lot of potential.
