The Many Acai Recipes

 

There are many benefits you can gain by eating the Acai berry. But there are plenty of ways to get the Acai berry in your diet besides juice, extract or supplement form. One popular option is the Brazilian Acai recipe known as the Rio Bowl. With this recipe you take a large banana and place two-thirds of it into a blender with two packs of Acai puree and three to four ounces of either apple juice or plain soy milk depending on which you like. You blend this mixture until it is thick and then pour it into a bowl. You top this with granola and the rest of the banana in slices.

 

Brazilians will also eat the Acai fruit as a pudding. To do this you will need two cans of condensed milk, three and a half cups of Acai puree, ten eggs and seven ounces of sugar. Blend all of these ingredients together using a mixer. Use a double boiler to cut the mixture for thirty minutes while stirring frequently. Then put the mixture in a baking dish at 375 degrees for thirty minutes or until the pudding is done.

 

The Brazilians have also long used the Acai fruit in juices, smoothies, soda or alcoholic mixed drinks all of which are popular methods for getting the Acai fruit into your diet in the United States. Some cultures have even used the Acai fruit as a flavor for meat and fish dishes.

 

There are other non-traditional Brazilian recipes there are an excellent way to try the Acai fruit. You can choose to use the Acai fruit as a salad dressing by mixing three and half ounces of Acai puree with one teaspoon honey, one teaspoon salt, juice of one half lime and one tablespoon of olive oil well blended.

 

Or you can enjoy a Tropical Acai Cocktail. This includes three ounces of Acai, one ounce banana liqueur, two ounces premium vodka, one half of a banana and one ounce sweetened condensed milk. All the ingredients should be shaken together and then served over ice in a glass.

 

A large number of Acai recipes include a smoothie mix. Smoothies are very easy to make and you can adjust them to specifically match your taste. Just take a little bit of Acai puree and add it to your favorite foods such as yogurt, other fruits, fruit juices, soy milk, ice cream or honey. The Acai fruit is most commonly combined with bananas, apples, strawberries, blueberries, mangoes, pomegranate, yogurt and honey. These aren’t often all combined together but you can mix whatever sounds good to you.

 

There are a great many recipes when it comes to the Acai fruit. Feel free to pick and choose ingredients to mix together until you find a dish that suits your tastes. It can be added to any dish and can even be added to most meat and fish dishes. The unique chocolate and berry flavor of the Acai fruit make it the perfect addition to any food dish.
